Description
The Midwest Medication Safety Symposium (MMSS) is an annual regional interdisciplinary meeting that was created to provide an opportunity for healthcare providers to collaborate and learn new medication safety strategies. The symposium will span three days and provide opportunities for seasoned practitioners, new practitioners, and students to come together to learn through podium presentations, poster presentations, vendor exhibits and breakout sessions. The goal of the symposium is that attendees will learn new ideas or skills that they can take back to their respective organizations and implement to improve medication safety.
This year’s program will include a Wednesday evening Medication Safety Bootcamp for front line staff, new practitioners, residents and students to learn about Just Culture, Safety Organizations, and ADE’s vs. ADRs to name a few. Bootcamp participants will have the opportunity to earn pharmacist, pharmacy technician, or nursing CE as well as be awarded a wall certificate for completion. Our Thursday and Friday sessions will provide practitioners with 1.5 days of pharmacist, pharmacy technician, and nursing CE and cover the following topics: Teaching Medication Safety to Learners, Medication Safety Consideration for Regulatory Readiness, the Opioid Epidemic, Online Pharmacies, High-Alert Medication and much more.
Nursing, pharmacist, pharmacy technician CE provided. For more CE information including accreditation statement and agenda, please see http://www.indypatientsafety.org/
